WELCOME TO SOVO// OPEN CALLS

SOVO// is always open to meeting new artists. Whether or not you find something of interest listed below, feel free to contact us at anytime to introduce yourself and see if we can work together. SOVO// often has a variety of projects on the table : print publications, online articles, feature and short films as well as experimental video projects, workshop series, lectures and moderated talks, exhibitions, performances, etc. We are always looking for more photographers and filmmakers working in analog formats, but we love meeting all kinds of visual and performance artists. CASTING FOR ISSUE 8

For Issue 8 titled Contemporary Folklore we are shooting outdoors and adhering to the guidelines of social distancing. If you want to come out and make art with us, we are looking for adventurous models who will enjoy a day trip out into the wild to bring our fiction tales to life. Masks, hand sanitizer, individually packaged meals and water will be provided. Everyone involved must have tested negative for COVID prior to the shoot. For information on free testing sites visit the LA County free COVID-19 testing site or the LHI COVID-19 Test Registration site. If you are a serious illustrator, if you argue over the weights of your graphite, if you stopped caring about even using a clean piece of paper years ago, if you can see beyond reality and visualize your imagination in ways that only an illustrator can, if you see color in shades, if you believe the craftsmanship of illustration is a form of storytelling, inviting viewers to jump into new dimensions, and if you are interested in having your work published alongside film photography, performance artwork, and scholarly imaginative writings, please send us a link to your portfolio site (if you have one) or samples of your work (if you don’t have a site), a short artist statement and your contact information for consideration via farida@sovoprojects.com.
