SOVO// is a quarterly print publication, self-made and self-published by a diverse collective of independent artists. It is both the only Los Angeles-based art collective dealing exclusively in publishing analog formats and the only print publication in Los Angeles to offer internal artist development initiatives. SOVO// is invested in providing a platform for the local, living, independent artist, and as part of that mission, offers coaching, mentorship, and resources. We cover all costs related to every production and create opportunities for contributing artists to publish, exhibit, and screen their experimental work. SOVO// is often the reason the artists we work with choose to continue—and evolve—their pursuit of the arts.
SOVO// has established a loyal following of avid fans who are passionate about visual and interactive analog storytelling formats. On average, we have up to 300 visitors attending our exhibitions and community events. SOVO// itself is powered by over 100 artists each year. We have completed seven editions of our quarterly publication (consisting of 97 editorials), seventeen short films, three solo artist exhibitions, and one writers residency.
As SOVO// continues to grow, we are working to establish and maintain a foothold in the Los Angeles arts community. To date, we have worked with : NASA/JPL, The Neutra Institute, Miles Davis Estate, Mount Wilson Observatory, The Salk Institute, ARCANA: Books on the Arts, hClub Los Angeles, and the Tom of Finland Foundation—among dozens of other organizations, businesses, and visionary individuals.
